Temporary Profession of Br Ambrose

Belmont Webmaster • January 9, 2020

As the Magi offer their gifts, a monk offers himself.

On 9th January Br Ambrose took Temporary Vows, for a period of 3 years. It was a beautiful Mass in the days of Epiphany , where we still sing the Christmas carols as well as the traditional Gregorian Chant. (We celebrate the full season - Christmas decorations don't come down until after the Baptism).

Br Ambrose is a musician, so he as a great love of the chant. He is also a baker, and made delicious mince meat and Christmas puddings, some of which were bought by visitors. As well as the community, some of his family friends came up from London and Kent. His parents brought up the gifts at the Offertory.

During the Mass he sang his vows, signed the document and showed it to the people. He then was clothed in the cowl by Abbot Paul.
Please pray for him as he continues his monastic journey.
