Prayer and Mass Intentions 

Each day at Mass and the Divine Office the Belmont Community prayers for the needs of the world,
remembering in particular those who have asked us to pray for them.

We enter into that priestly prayer of Christ who intercedes for his people.

We receive many prayer requests from those who are unable to physically visit the Abbey and include these in our general intentions. 

Some request something more concrete: a 7 Day lamp to burn for a loved one or for a particular intention.

Others ask for a Mass to be offered for a particular good intention, for the living or the dead. It is their way of associating themselves more fully with the Mass, which is considered the greatest possible prayer of intercession of Christ.
