The Art of Listening

The Art of Listening

Led by Dom Brendan Thomas

"Christianity is above all a discipline of listening, an art of listening." So writes Enzo Bianchi, echoing the experience of St Benedict and the monastic tradition to describe the path of spiritual growth. How do we begin to keep that two-fold commandment of love? We begin by listening - to God and to each other. We grow in love as we begin to listen. In a world where people are increasingly shouting at each other it is quite a challenge. Designed for five days reflection, you can now follow this retreat online at your own pace.

Cost

There is no charge for this day. It is to help in these difficult times.

About our Online Retreats

On the Day with Zoom

On the day there will be videos and material here on this web page for reflection, and also a link to Zoom where we can begin and end the day together at 10am and 4pm.

Zoom is a way of bringing people together (a very Benedictine thing!) This allows us to have some human contact with some prayer and reflection.

To join us you will need to subscribe to our Belmont Retreats email - see below, if you have not already done so, at least 24 hours before the event, to receive a link and password.

If you receive the joining instructions from a friend, or some other way, you are very welcome to join us.

On the Website at any time

You might prefer to join this retreat and reflect quietly alone or at a later time of your convenience.

The retreat is designed with all the essential elements - videos and material for reflection - available online to make this possible.

This will not be accessible until the the day of the event, but from that date can be found on this page. It will be available for several weeks.
