Belmont Abbey School - 1926-1993

Belmont Abbey School was was founded in 1926 and continued until 1993.

On these pages you can trace the history of the educational work of at Belmont, from the days of the Junior Seminary in the 19th Century and the small Alumnate which was the immediate predecessor of the modern School, through the years of expansion until the final years and the sad fact of its closure. Also important in this history are the prep schools at Llanarth and Alderwasley.

Unlike other many schools that close, the monastic Community remains at Belmont, and will always welcome Old Boys and Girls, parents and friends that are passing this way.

In particular we welcome the annual reunion of the Belmont Association.

The Belmont Association

The Belmont Association is an association of former pupils of Belmont Abbey School. Its purpose is as a forum where past students, members of staff or indeed anyone connected with Belmont Abbey School can keep in touch with each other, receive information of the news and events while also giving support to the Monastery.

News of coming Social Events, the Association Golf Day, AGM, and Committee meetings are regularly posted.

From there you will also be able to visit the Memorabilia Site which is a vast archive featuring photos, articles, history, personal accounts, drama reviews and playbills, sports teams, House and School pictures, the Prep Schools, obituaries and much more.
